Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients Visit Specialists More Than Primary Care Providers
In 2017, rheumatoid arthritis patients across the nation visited a rheumatologist (4.4 visits) more frequently, on average, than they visited a primary care provider (PCP; 3.9).
Meanwhile, lipid disorder patients visited a cardiologist and PCP the same number of times (3.5), and Type 2 diabetes patients visited a PCP (4.1) 50% more often than an endocrinologist (2.7).
